Flowers Are Calling, by Rita Gray
We really enjoyed this rhyming volume near flowers and the animals who pollinate them. On each page the flowers are calling… simply for whom? "Flowers are calling a little blackness bear. No, not a bear! He doesn't care. They're calling a butterfly to dip from the air." We skipped over the pages with detailed information about each flower, but your child might enjoy them.
Flower Garden, by Eve Bunting
This is such a lovely story and my personal favorite from this list. Information technology's about a man and his girl who institute a windowbox of flowers every bit a surprise for the female parent'south birthday.
Sidewalk Flowers, by Jonarno Lawson
My Three didn't enjoy this wordless film book, but it's truly fabulous and volition requite you a lot to talk virtually. A dad on a cell phone takes a walk with his very observant picayune daughter, who picks the flowers she finds growing in odd places all around the urban center. Finally, she brightens the lives of those she meets by leaving the flowers behind.
This is the Sunflower, by Lola Schaefer
I've always institute "This is the House that Jack Congenital" to exist a tedious rhyme. But fifty-fifty though this volume follows the pattern of that rhyme as it tells almost a sunflower'due south life, we enjoyed it. Information technology'due south nothing spectactular, but a nice book.
Sunflower House, by Eve Bunting
This a wonderful book that my 4 requested frequently. Information technology'due south nigh a boy who plants sunflower seeds in a circle so that he can have a sunflower business firm to play in all summertime long.
The Bloom Alphabet Book, by Jerry Pallotta
I could never get my 4 to listen to this A-Z volume nigh flowers, which was a bummer considering I remember he would take liked it. The book packs a lot of information, but it's told in a conversational fashion with a lot of interesting little details. Requite it a effort!
Wanda'south Roses, by Pat Brisson
This is a tender story of a little daughter who finds a thornbush growing in an empty lot. She's sure it's a rosebush and tends it carefully. As it turns out, the bush never blooms – but Wanda brings the community together as they transform the vacant lot. Recommended!
Counting Wildflowers, by Bruce McMillan
This is a simple counting book that young preschoolers will enjoy. We liked learning the names of the wildflowers on each page.
If you're looking for a dandy nonfiction volume about flowers for young listeners, this is it. Information technology has bright photographs and just the correct amount of text.
This volume is a poem near the growth of a sunflower. The concept is wonderful, and the illustrations are lovely, only something about it didn't keep our interest. You should give it a try, though. It may simply be that we were tired of reading virtually plants. đŸ˜‰
Zinnia's Blossom Garden, past Monica Wellington
This is a simple book about growing a flower garden – planting and caring for information technology, sharing the flowers, and planning for next yr. My Four enjoyed the illustrations, which are a mixture of drawings and photographs.
